The Litigation and Arbitration Practice Group is dedicated to navigating the intricate realm of dispute resolution with precision and proficiency. Composed of independent lawyers operating across diverse jurisdictions, this group is committed to providing unparalleled guidance and representation in all matters related to litigation and arbitration.
From complex commercial disputes to civil litigation matters, our Litigation and Arbitration Practice Group serves a diverse clientele with advice designed to achieve optimal outcomes in the courtroom and arbitration proceedings alike. Despite our members being dispersed across different jurisdictions, we convene periodically to share insights, discuss legal strategies, and collaborate on innovative approaches to resolving cross-border disputes effectively.
Members of the group have a large experience in both arbitration and litigation, having advised in some of the most complex cases around the world.
Goals
Knowledge Exchange and Collaboration: Fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge exchange among members, despite being in different jurisdictions. This includes regular virtual meetings, sharing best practices, and discussing case studies to leverage the collective expertise of the group.
Cross-Jurisdictional Understanding: Enhancing members’ understanding of laws and regulations across different jurisdictions. Developing resources and conducting training sessions to ensure that all members are well-versed in the nuances of various legal frameworks, enabling them to provide comprehensive guidance to clients with cross-border interests.
Client-Centric Solutions: Striving to deliver client-centric solutions that are tailored to the specific legal landscapes of different jurisdictions. Developing a deep understanding of each client’s unique needs and objectives, and collaborating across borders to provide holistic legal advice that accounts for regulatory differences and maximizes value for clients.
Business Development and Networking: Actively engaging in business development activities and networking opportunities to expand the group’s reach and attract clients with litigation needs. This includes attending industry events, participating in professional associations, and leveraging digital platforms to showcase the group’s expertise.

Roland Kläger is an expert in national and international arbitration proceedings, in which he acts as experienced counsel and arbitrator. He also represents clients in disputes before state courts. The cases on which he advises originate from diverse sectors (e.g. electronics, automotive, energy, chemistry, trade, engineering, finance), are often technically and legally complex, and reach across borders.
Resumé: Roland Kläger studied law at the University of Freiburg and holds a doctor of laws (Dr. jur.) from the University of Tübingen. He worked as a research fellow at the University of Freiburg, as a visiting fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law of the University of Cambridge and practiced dispute resolution in a big international law firm in Frankfurt.
Roland Kläger holds various positions in the arbitration community and is e.g. co-chair of the arbitration and litigation group of The Law Firm Network, former representative of the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (ICC YAAF), past coordinator of the Initiative of Young Arbitration Practitioners of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS40), co-founder of ILEX – International Litigation Exchange, as well as a member of further arbitration associations. He speaks German, English and Spanish.

Mohamed has more than 20 years’ experience working in the Middle East. He regularly acts as counsel and arbitrator in a broad range of complex and transnational disputes in various sectors including real estate, construction, oil and gas, IT, hotels and tourism and banking. He has specific expertise in engineering and general construction disputes.
