Denis McSweeney Solicitors LLP is a well-established law firm in Dublin, having been founded by Denis McSweeney BCL in 1980.
The Firm caters for the needs of both private and commercial clients. Our core areas of practice are Corporate, Commercial Real Estate, Residential Conveyancing, Commercial Litigation and Private Client, with a senior lawyer heading up each department. Our firm is structured to allow cross departmental involvement in any matter where necessary.
The Firm is made up of approximately 20 professionals, including 2 Partners (Denis McSweeney (Founding Partner) and Niamh Kennedy (Managing Partner)), 7 Senior Associates, Legal Executives, Trainees and Support Staff.

Sinead is a Senior Associate on our litigation team. As a general litigator, Sinead handles a diverse range of contentious and non-contentious matters for both plaintiffs and defendants. Her client base includes both corporate and private clients and her practice spans a broad range of commercial disputes. She has extensive expertise in all aspects of commercial litigation to include, contractual disputes, shareholder, property disputes and investment fraud. Sinead also advises on professional negligence claims, probate disputes and landlord and tenant issues. Sinead practices at District, Circuit and High Court level and has also extensive expertise in commercial court disputes having spent many years with one of Dublin’s largest law firms.
Sinead is very solution focused and has extensive experience of mediations which often may lead to a prompt and cost effective solution for clients.
Sinead is a CEDR accredited mediator and has completed the Advanced Diploma in Corporate White Collar and Regulatory Crime (Kings Inn) and the Law Society Diploma in Judicial Skills and Decision Making.

Eimear leads the Firm’s corporate practice, specialising in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate re-organisations, equity investments and shareholder agreements, commercial contracts and corporate governance matters. She originally trained with the Firm, qualifying in 2008. Having gained experience in other leading Dublin firms, as a Senior Associate in Beauchamps LLP and a Partner in BHSM LLP, she rejoined the Practice in 2024.
Eimear has acted for clients, both domestic and international, in a variety of sectors including technology, life sciences, health care, insurance, construction, retail and hospitality and also regularly advises on the corporate finance elements of large commercial real estate transactions.
She has extensive experience in corporate transactions, acting for both buyers and sellers in share and asset sales. Her focus is on providing practical and solution-driven advice, working closely with other advisors to bring transactions to completion as efficiently and cost effectively as possible for the client.
In addition, Eimear frequently deals with re-organisations and corporate restructurings, assisting clients in preparing for business expansion, disposals and succession planning in family run businesses. She also regularly advises businesses on various commercial contracts, financing and company law matters.
