The LFN Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group will welcome Alexander G. Fessas, Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, for a special webinar on Thursday, 8 October 2026, focusing on the upcoming reform of the ICC Arbitration Rules.
Mr. Fessas joined the ICC Court in late 2011 and has since held consecutive positions across three case management teams, including two positions as counsel. He subsequently served for three years as the Secretariat’s Managing Counsel before becoming Secretary General.
In his current role, Mr. Fessas is responsible for the operational management and coordination of the ICC Court’s Secretariat and other dispute resolution services across Paris, Hong Kong, New York, São Paulo and Singapore.
Before joining the ICC Court, Mr. Fessas practised as counsel in Athens, establishing his own practice in 2008. He also served as editor-in-chief of the Revue hellénique de droit international.
This background places Mr. Fessas in a distinctive position to offer a first-hand perspective on the upcoming reform of the ICC Arbitration Rules: what is changing, the thinking behind the changes, and what the new Rules will mean in practice.
Moderated by members Nico Mooduto and Dr. Roland Kläger, the discussion will explore the reform and its practical implications, while also giving participants the opportunity to put their questions directly to the ICC Secretary General.
Mr. Fessas’s participation offers the LFN community a valuable opportunity to hear directly from one of the keyfigures at the heart of international arbitration about an important development for
practitioners and users worldwide.
