Young Lawyers Group
Welcome to the LFN Young Lawyers Group!
The LFN Young Lawyers Group is an exciting initiative within The Law Firm Network (LFN), designed to bring together the next generation of legal professionals. Led by Niko Liu, Senior Partner at Chinese member firm MHP Law Firm and Head of the MHP Xiamen Office, this platform offers young lawyers the chance to connect, collaborate, and grow within the global LFN community.
What does the LFN Young Lawyers Group do?
The Young Lawyers Group is dedicated to fostering a vibrant, supportive community for emerging legal professionals.
Members will have the opportunity to:
- Network with Global Peers: Connect with young lawyers from around the world and expand your professional network.
- Enhance Professional Development: Engage in webinars, virtual meetings, and discussions on key legal topics, gaining insights from both peers and senior lawyers.
- Participate in Key Initiatives: Get involved in important LFN programs such as the Young Lawyers Award and the Young Lawyers Secondment Program.
- Shape the Future of Law: Contribute fresh perspectives to the ongoing evolution of legal practice and corporate governance.
Our Vision
The LFN Young Lawyers Group aims to provide a platform that bridges the generational gap in the legal profession. By facilitating connections and fostering professional growth, this group will serve as an incubator for new ideas, innovations, and leadership in the legal community, providing young lawyers with valuable opportunities for their professional development. For our members, is a valuable tool for talent attraction and retention.
Initiatives:
- Young Lawyers Award: Recognizing outstanding young talent across the network. The winners will have their work published across LFN’s public and private channels and receive free registration to the annual LFN Conference, held in a different country each year. The Chair of the Young Lawyers Groups, forms part of the Jury that grants the Award each year.
- LFN Young Lawyers Secondment Program. Offering young lawyers, the opportunity to gain international experience through exchanges between member firms, with financial support for their expenses.
- Online Meetings & Discussions: Regular online meetings will provide an opportunity to network, discuss key topics, and collaborate on professional development initiatives.
- Special Sessions at the LFN Annual Conferences: Bringing fresh perspectives and ideas to the forefront.
Essay Award
Every year, The Law Firm Network celebrates the LFN Young Lawyers Essay Award, in which a young lawyer from the network is awarded for an original paper on a legal topic.
The paper, anonymously submitted to an LFN jury, is selected based on: qualit of research and analysis, novelty, profundity and over-all contribution to the legal field, as well as grammar, spelling and structuring. The winner, gets his or her work published in the network’s public and private channels and travels to the LFN Annual Conference, celebrated in a different country every year, cost free.

Programme
The Law Firm Network has put in place a program that promotes the exchange of young lawyers between
member firms, making a monetary contribution to support the lawyer’s expenses.
The Program aims to encourage young member lawyers to develop their professional and personal skills
while working in a new cultural environment as well as to enhance cooperation between member firms,
create employee loyalty, expand cultural and business understanding and generate new business opportunities among members.
